Declare Me Winner Of Bye-Election, Lalong Ex-Commissioner, Aku Urges APC

Plateau State former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon.Abbey Joseph Aku has disclosed that the declaration of the bye-election for the Jos North/Bassa Federal constituency that degenerated into inconclusive is unfortunate that calls for the intervention of the National headquarters intervention.

Speaking shortly after the congress, Abbey Aku urged the All Progressive Congress (APC) to add the 26 missing votes and declare him the winner of the bye-election.

He said, “this result which was declared by the INEC as inconclusive results by the returning officer,Rt Hon.Habu Sajo had created suspicion amongst the party faithful.

Hon Abbey Aku described the exercise in counting votes in Bassa LGA which is one of his strongholds where his agents transmitted the outcome of the results to him through the phone conversation show that, Hon Suleiman Kwande scored 366 while he himself got 340 in the kneeling contested primary.

According to him, he is so surprised by the outcome of what he chided it as the plan to create conflict and hatred between him and his friend, Hon .Suleiman Kwande whom they’ve been friends.

Abbey said as a law-abiding citizen who respects the constituted authority he won’t allow such sentiment to be could his sense of peaceful coexistence with the good people of the state.

Hon Abbey Joseph Aku promised to wait for the outcome of the decision of the National Secretariat to put an end to the fracas which had bedeviled the party, as he appealed to the national party to intervene.

He noted, “I don’t know why there was a sudden change in the bye-election results because I was the only candidate leading the exercise with a wide margin “.

Abbey solicited the cooperation of all a sundry to put an end to the feud, saying whether what he can be forced to do is to basically await the decision of the party headquarters.

He maintained that what is Crystal clear is that he was leading the bye-election results and it was suddenly changed and it was said that it is inconclusive with the exercise tense.
