The former Minister for Youth and Sports Development ,Barr . Solomon Selcap Dalung has described that ,the worst appointment you can ever take in Africa is that of Special Adviser because whatever advice you offer can be rubbish and even ignore as incompetent that even position is abandoned at the varanda of Mr President .
Dalung stated this during an interactive session with some selected media in Jos .
He,however,said as a critics he can even offer solution so that he cannot claim to be ignorance person who only know how to criticize if the president is going the wrong direction without focus and be committed to Nigeria project .
Dalung advised that President should put behind bitterness or electioneering bitterness campaign and see himself as a leader of Nigeria not that of APC because now Tinubu is seeing himself first as APC President again as an Yoruba leader .
He disclosed that,”This two disposition is definitely undermining his position and capacity in providing purposeful leadership for Nigeria.
Adding, Solomon Selcap says ,” President Tinubu most convent himself that indeed he is a leader of Nigeria that he has to revisit his oath of office especially that said,” I will do justice to all manner of man without fear or favour so let him keep rehearsing it as one of Rackal of his oath of office”.
According to him,” how will he deal with this two policy? He appealing to Tinubu to deliberately crash the price of petroleum down to 200 per litre and once that is done this is going to effect policy in the interim .
Dalung stressed out that ,There should be comprehensive reform on petroleum industry defining the relationship of government and that of private actor especially that of Dangote refinery government most involve in deliberate negotiation to come out concrete policy to address the present hardship.
“That will in all process of production and acquisition , distribution to Nigerian so as to now takeover crashing of petroleum prices by crashing down and then new partnership with the private sector be introduce which will define a new price regime while other engagement going to stabilize .
Barr. Dalung admonished that Government have to crash prices of food mob up food or grains in the market if it is insufficient then import and sell at subsidize rate .
“Government most subsidize food ,crash in doing that food will become cheaper and the market forces will be allow to comply with the market forces . current policy of government rice going to be sell at 20,000 per a bag you can allow the private individuals to sell at 80,000 .to align with the current government policy.
You agree to stabilize food crisis cut off strategic policy to revolutionized provision input soft loan to genuine farmers to deal with basic farming system we have category farmers to deal .we have those categories on large scale ,we will have measure food production so Government to create policy .
He urged federal government to revisit and invest on large scale farming by encouraging cash crops ,G/nut ,Rice ,Maize and Palm oil, coconut,in the southern deliberately policy now . This can only be possible of there’s a commitment on side of government to appoint honest legitimate Nigerian.n
