Crisis Looms Over Commissioners Lists In Plateau House Of Assembly

Crisis looms in Plateau state over the names of Commissioner Nominees, as Pan and Goemai youths clashed  at the  State Assembly complex on Tuesday .

The Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has presented the names of commissioner’s nominee before the 24 members of Assembly sitting in Jos.

Lalong statement was communicated by the Rt Hon Speaker Peter Azi who read the communication at the floor during the Tuesday sitting.

“You would recall that the governor received condemnation from the people of the state that since he was sworn-in May ,29th 2015 and refused to bring  commissioners on board to compliment the dividends of democracy”.

Among the names of the commissioners nominees from the 17 names that sparked off the protest was the name brought from Qua’anpan Local Government Council were youths registered their grievances.

A group of youths whose names are withheld raised alarm that governor Lalong is trying introduce dictatorship and poor governance.

The group called on the administration to reverse their decision or face stiffed opposition over the names of commissioners from Qua’anpan who is a Goemai.
