Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state has held a closed door meeting with top government functionaries, traditional rulers, Ulamas in bid to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
Badaru however said as fasting is around the corner Tahajjud will not be allowed to take place in the state, adding that social distance will also be implemented during the five daily prayers and it is compulsory for every Muslim to wear face mask during Friday prayer and those who could not afford it should use handkerchiefs to cover their face during Friday prayer.
He warned that anybody who do not comply with government order will face court action as he added that mobile courts has been established in the state to prosecute defaulters.
