Court Stops PDP And INEC From Conducting Primaries In Jos Yakubu Wuyep,Jos

A Federal High Court Sitting in Jos, the Plateau State Capital yesterday ordered INEC and PDP from conducting the Guber primaries in Plateau state, the suit was filled by some People Democratic Party ,PDP , leaders  in Plateau state .
The suit was filed in Federal High Court, Jos Judicial Division, the case with suit number No.FHC/J/CS/106/2014 shows that the Plaintiffs/Applicants include; Mathew Daniel Datong,Hon Barnabas Rintar,Gurumdiye Depak Gurumdiye,Eric Bukwop GuiMwai,Daniel Sule ,Alh. Umar Jibrin,Lohzhi Sabo ,Philip Amalla and Auwal Shehu and the defendants are People Democratic Party ,PDP, and Independent National Electoral commission ,INEC.
The motion of exparte dated the 24th November,2014 prayed the honourable court for the following; an order of  interim injunction restraining the 1st Defendant from violating or undermining the principle of power shift and power  sharing as well as the policy of zoning of public elective offices enshrined in the constitution .
Secondly,an order of interim injunction restraining the 1st Defendant from processing the forms submitted by gubernatorial candidates in respect of Plateau state, interviewing ,screening and or further screening the gubernatorial candidates for the office of Governor of Plateau state with respect to the General/Gubernatorial election in 2015 pending the determination of the motion on notice.
The prayer seeking the court order to stop those delegates parading themselves as PDP delegates was supported with affidavit in support of the motion paper,  sworn to by Daniel Sule ,male ,Christian ,Businessman ,Politician ,Nigeria citizen of Jat ward of Langtang-North Local Government Area of Plateau state. And filed in this court registry and after hearing P.A Akubo (SAN) Appearing with S.Y.Tsok ,N.H.Onwukene (Mrs) and K.A.Daudaso of counsel for the Applicants move interims of the motion paper and urged the court to grant the application.
The presiding Judge,Justice’s A.Lewis Allagoa said that in view of the facts disclosed in the affidavit of urgency ,the matter
Is adjourned to be heard within 5 (five) days from the date of service of this order on the respondents.

He said that in the interim ,let the parties maintain status quo and the matter is adjourned to the 3rd day of December,2014 for hearing of motion.
