Court Injunction Restrain Nasarawa State Government From Prosecuting Sponsors, Abettors Of Ombatse By Rabiu Omaku,Lafia

Nasarawa state Governor,Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has attributed the delay in the prosecution of those indicted in the findings of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Alakyo killings and other matter there connected with due to a court injunction restraining the state Government from arresting those fingered.

Al-Makura hinted this at the end of a meeting held by traditional rulers in the state with an aim of tackling the uprising between Fulani herdsmen and Eggon militant.

Governor Al-Makura has task traditional rulers in the state to implore the vehicle of Community Based Conflict Resolution to curtail the renewed ethnic and communal clash that blanketed the state barely one week today.

The Governor said the haphazard implementation of the whitepaper over crisis in the state also aggravated the unabated skirmishes, calling the traditional institutions to maintain the tempo by ensuring that permanent peace sees the light of the day.

“Some people in the state went to court to seek injunction to arrest the culprits indicted by the Judicial Commission of Inquiry, Adding that effort are at top gear to bring those behind the current bloodshed to book”.

Promising that the Government of Nasarawa will ensure that all those involved are brought to book, The state in his statement commended the traditional rulers of their support in ensuring peace in the state.

The controversial monarch of Eggon nation,Aren Eggon,Bala Angbazo was conspicuously absent at the peace meeting, Though he has never attend any security meeting known attend any occasion or public gathering.

Also in a related development, An Eggon frontline politician, Honorable Adamu Muazu has attributed the renewed frays between Eggon and Fulani herdsmen to lack of clear cattle route demarcated to Fulani pastoralist.

The current commissioner of environment, Adamu Muazu gave the hint in an exclusive interview with selected journalist at his abode, The cabinet member faulted his kinsmen, The Eggons for their impatient for matcheting a Fulani boy for trespassing a farmland which was mark out as cattle route.

“The crisis emanated from the impeachment saga which was mar by statewide protest, Adding that people knows that the controversial cattle was demarcated for that purpose, In spite of that Fulani’s use to pay certain compensation to farmers within that route”.

As of press time, reliable information unfolded that Eggon militants raised down all houses belonging to Gwandara people of Daddere Development Area exception of worship houses, The attack according to some of the displaced persons who spoke to our reporter said no single soul was in the community, He further said a mad man who is also a cripple was killed by Ombatse militia during the attack.

Scores of Alago’s were also killed in Assakio by Ombatse in an attempt to escape from the sharp matched of their assailants, Those killed also include a translators of Alago news, ex-speaker of Lafia Local Government  perish in the clash, The attack mated on Assakio for the third time was a calculated attempt to wiped the Alago’s out of Assakio, which was the ancestral home of the Alago people.
