Court grants bail to Danchina over alleged money laundering in Jos

Justice Yakubu Dakwak of the State High Court sitting in Plateau state has granted bail worth 5 million naira and two sureties with landed property to Alh. Danchina and solid unit company limited.

In his ruling over the application brought before the honorable court, Justice Dakwak has adjourned the matter to 22nd July, 2016 for continuation of hearing.

The counsel to Federal Republic of Nigeria, EFCC also slammed charges of money laundering of money amounting to 24 million naira for alleged bridge of contract.

He said the two directors who stand for his bail must have certificate of occupancy (C/0 and are residents in Jos whose documents has clear evidence prove of satisfaction by government agencies.

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, on Friday Paraded Danchina over allegations money laundering and misappropriation of funds.

The case between Federal Republic of Nigeria Vs Danchina and second offender solid unit Nigeria limited which counsel presented application before Justice, Yakubu Dakwak as prayer.

While ruling on the application the judge said going by the records presented before this honorable court of alleged fear of jumping of bail and non-appearance in court.

This court has  refused to consider the allegations of tempering with the prosecution process which the two accused may likely jump bail ,the court took the decision to grant bail of 5 million naira ,two surety within Plateau state with clear evidence prove of landed property worth that money.

Counsel to the two accused Bar. Gyang zi and the prosecuting counsel to EFCC Bar. Benjamin Manji both expressed confidence on the ruling.

Zi said his counsel is a responsible citizen of Nigeria and family man who cannot break the law.
