Court Excludes APC From Participating In Bokkos LGA Poll , “Order PLASIEC To Maintain Status Quo”

The Plateau State High Court sitting in Jos Division  on Monday has issued restraining order to stop the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon Joseph Guluwa, and Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission, PLASIEC, from the October 2021 LG poll.

 

 

Hon Peter Best Mallo in a suit NO PLD/J/327M1 /2021 challenging the Nomination of Joseph Guluwa as the flag bearer of the APC in Bokkos LGA by seeking an interim order to maintain status quo until the determination of the case .

 

Hon Peter Best Mallo approach the vacation judge, Justice Ishaku Kunda who delivered a ruling on the motion of exparte application ordering the PLASIEC Chairman, Hon Ntung Ari , APC from allowing Joseph Guluwa parading himself as the Chairmanship candidate of the party in Bokkos Local Government Council.

 

Speaking with the plaintiff counsel, Barr. Munir Abdullahi Barau explained that ,”I’m glad that we filed a motion of exparte application over the APC congresses that produced Hon Joseph Guluwa as their candidate for the forthcoming LG election .

 

He said our aggrieved client who is also an APC aspirant was dissatisfied with the outcome of the exercise aggrieved that there were no primaries conducted in Bokkos LGA .

 

According to him ,the court graciously granted him his prayers to stop the APC flag bearer restraining order from claiming to be the elected candidate of illegal or kangaroo consensus candidate .

 

Munir says, this are  reasons why my client  drive them  to filed for in court ,.

 

We argued that the party should maintain the status quo which by implication that,”if for example, the party APC conducted election in Bokkos LGA, APC will not feature any candidate for the election because already there is an order to that effect
