Court Adjourns Case Of Over N100 Million Fraud On Executive Guard Limited To 9th,10 Nov

The Plateau State High Court presided over by Justice Christine Dabup has adjourned to 9th and 10th November 2020, a case of criminal conspiracy, arson, money laundering offenses for the continuation of hearing and cross-examination of the principal witness, Chief Edinen Usoroh the PW4.

 

The Ministry of Justice, department of public Prosecution, DPP, is now prosecuting Mr. Benjamin Lahor and Philip Achor for standing trial over defrauding of the Managing Director of Executive Guard limited, Chief Edinen Usoroh to over 100 million Naira.

 

The PW4, Chief Edinen Usoroh who lives at plot 43375 Gold & base in Jos South Local Government Council of Plateau state is The Managing Director Executive Guard Ltd road.

 

He told the court during cross-examination by Barr Longden Jacob of DPP department ministry of Justice that he employed Mr. Benjamin Lahor as the accountant of the company because he knew him right from the village.

 

According to PW4, he brought Mr. Benjamin Lahor and they lived together for almost a year before he was recruited into the company as the company’s accounting officer where he was promoted to the position of a branch manager of Executive Security Guard limited with the headquarters in Jos.

 

He emphasized that the scheduled duty of the company as a managing director of the company was to oversee the policy implementation as directed by the board of directors of the security outfit.

 

The company has the department of the security operation, financial, and marketing where staff would be recruited to provide security protection to their clients and the protection of their clients’ lives and properties.

 

Usoroh explained further that the company was established since 1998 and has been providing security services to safeguard the people.

 

The principal witness PW4, Chief Edinen  Usoroh reiterated that as one of the laid down rules of the company is that all money sent by their clients goes directly into the company account which he said are Access bank and FCMB bank.

 

Chief Usoroh said he has been receiving a series of complaints from his clients over the misconduct of the security personnel posted on duty that they are not paid to discharge their function effectively.

 

However, as the company managing director is incumbent for me to commence an investigation into their allegation when these guys were found guilty.

 

He disclosed that Mr. Benjamin Lahor the first defendant is not providing the company with the necessary information to reconcile the financial disposition of the company.

 

 

He maintained that the company started haven problems with some of the security personnel posted on duty and complaining coming from their clients that most of them abandon their duty post in the night.

 

PW4 told the court that the company has to employed Mr. Philip Akon as the accountant to help unravel the major causes of the problem whether the policy of the company is working right or not.

 

After series of investigations, we discover that 6.7 million naira is still missing but the defendants trick the security personnel posted on night duty to set the entire edifice on fire to enable them to destroy vital documents linking the company financial position, he added.
