This report may surprise the readers as controversy surrounds the amount released by the government of Nasarawa state for the payment of gratuity, security and NYSC allowances to the famous College Of Education, Akwanga.

Insider from the office of the Accountant General of the state has revealed to this medium that the approval for gratuity, security and NYSC allowances was N10 million and not N5 million.

Impeccable source from the College of Education, Akwanga who pleaded anonymity said frantic effort has been made to ensure that the actual amount of N10 million was release to the school during the time of the late Accountant General, Dadda’u Musa.

The Provost, Dr. Rebecca Umar Isaac when contacted declined comment instead she direct our reporter to contact the either the Accountant General, Commissioner of Finance or Education for Verification.

Feelers from the Institution maintained that the former Advanced Teachers’ College, now College of Education, Akwanga has the highest number of retired civil servants than the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, College of Agriculture, Lafia has the least retired civil servants but earns huge amount as gratuity.
