A group of concerned youth in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State has expressed confidence in the capacity of John Miri Gbakokat to pilot the affairs of the council and reposition it for excellent performance.
The youths under the aegis of Tarok Youths Association, therefore, commended the efforts and encouragement of Special Adviser to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his grassroots mobilization as he remains undeterred by the antics of self-serving detractors.
In a statement on Wednesday, Hon Nanchang Sale the spokesperson for the group, vehemently disassociated themselves with the lopsided leadership of the council by saying, We no longer have confidence in the council leadership.
The group described the absence of leadership vacuum as poor management of resources created in the affairs of the council by the chairman and his legislative arm by calling for immediate change, as they passed a vote of no confidence in the leaders.
According to the statement, the youths alleged that the present chairman has refused to construct water, roads, and other social amenities to mitigate the risks of epidural infections during the dry season, which is also an embarrassment to the peace-loving people of Langtang South LGA.
The concerned youths had claimed that since the Chairman and his councillors came on board, the council had continued to experience administrative underdevelopment.
They alleged that the council has hijacked the operations of the PDP, running it like a personal enterprise and sidelining both the stakeholders and party bigwigs, including community leaders.
However, the Langtang South concerned group in a statement said: “We are deeply alarmed by the baseless claims that the activities of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang are gaining relevance in Tarok land, considering poor leadership.
“The Tarok youths and the entire community, both at home and in the diaspora, know these individuals for what they truly are: pursuing personal and corrupt agendas under the guise of PDP
“We remain fully committed to the change of leadership and will never support any attempt to derail genuine administrative change in the council.
While urging all individuals and groups seeking to destabilize the progressive agenda of His Excellency Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang , to desist forthwith, Nanchang Sale said the time has come for all hands to be on deck in support of the transformation of Plateau State and the holistic development of the State.
