Concerned Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria In Nasarawa State Threaten To Pull Out, Accuses Chairman Of High Handedness With Union Dues

Concerned members of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, Nasarawa state chapter has accused the chairman, Jimoh Musa for high handedness in handling union dues as well running the union as his personal enterprise.

In a three page statement dated 8th June,2017 and signed by Hajiya Summaiyah Abdullahi, Ango Usman,Usman Baba Lawal,Ibrahim M.Ogoshi,Aboki Nicodemus and Abdul A.Ogiri respectively.

The members are accusing the chairman for flouting the unions constitution, saying no congress was held before the conduct of election.

Other complaints are that the concerned members has threaten to invoke section 40 of the 1999 constitution on the freedom of association and union and failure to comply to the yearnings of members would give room for the withdrawal of their membership.

The aggrieved members called on heads of court to stop further remittance of union dues to the purported imposed executive pending the determination of suit NO/FHC/LF/C5/15/17.

Concerned JUSUN members in Nasarawa state challenged the just concluded union election held on the 24th June, 2017 as a total aberration of the constitution.

It was unfolded that the chairman during and after the election is yet to give vivid detailed of financial report of union dues ,saying no member knows the state of finances or dues remittance since 2016.

“When we write to challenged Jimoh on our due he write back to us that members has no right to demand for the financial statement of the union.

It was contained in the statement that the present crop of JUSUN executive are planning to increase union dues from 2-4% ,as the concerned members described the attempt as an impossible attempt, adding that the attempt is a criminal conspiracy.

“Reference rule 25 subsection (2) of the amended constitution for your guide”

“The new and imposed executives have failed for that they must listen to the yarning and cry of the members”.

The chairman in a telephone interview described the statement as mere fictitious and baseless saying there is no attempt to increase the union dues by the executive.

“They don’t have the right to compelled us to give them detail of dues remittance”, he added.

Members that did not want their names on print said the chairman dipped his hands into union dues without consulting the congress.

Hammed in an interview described the election that brought Jimoh and his cohorts as a clear manipulation of election by the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, Nasarawa state chapter calling on the national body to wade into the matter before the self-acclaimed new executive of the union cripple JUSUN.
