Concerned Group Solicits Parents, Religious Leaders To Unite Youths In Nigeria

A group of Concerned Youth Association, COJOYA,  Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State has solicited the cooperation of guardians, and community leaders to focus more on what will unite youths in Nigeria rather building rooms of hatred and killings of one another through hate speeches.

 

 

This was content in a program for three days organized by COJOYA interschool competition to students to test their knowledge on sciences, social science .

 

Convener of the program ,Barr ,Buhari Ibrahim in his speech  said this is the second edition of the program which is aim at encouraging students to read hard , improve their academic pursue in their various fields of human endeavor amongst the  secondary schools to both Muslims and Christian to come together and interact in developing themselves.

 

He said the exercise was targeted at promoting unity and cohesion and this year along we had 75 students to participate.

 

Buhari commended the management committee Chairman, Hon Shehu Bala for coming to declare the occasion open.

 

We challenge parents to encourage their children to work hard and better their future because education remains a key to progress.

 

On Saturday Director, Plateau Peace Agency will be coming to address the students on the need to promote peaceful existence amongst the youth and shun other social verses capable of destroying them.

 

The Local Organizing Chairman, Suleiman Tamim said the exercise had received a boost with the numbers of schools that came.

 

He said the program is going to build capacity of students to make them relevant especially those who work hard would to reward with award winner certificate and prize for the best school.

 

Tamim also pleaded with the guardians towards encouraging students learning at home instance them turning out to useless to themselves and the community.

 

The Chairman Hon Shehu Bala thanked the organizers for the good gesture, saying the council is willing to partner with them to create conducive learning environment.

 

He added that the LGA is ready to promote peaceful existence amongst all the ethnic nationality that is residents in Jos North by working towards building mutual respect among the diverse group.

 

Bala encouraged them to make use of the platform and enlighten the society about important of education because without it you are going nowhere.
