Comrade Shamdung Drums Support For Anti-Kidnappers Bill, Stiff Punishment

Worried about the high rate of kidnapping of innocent people in Plateau State, the National Auditor of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Comrade Shamdung Ayuba Jepla has challenged the Plateau State House of Assembly to as a matter of urgent important give accelerated passage of the anti-kidnapping bill into law.

 

Jepla made this disclosure during a press conference held at his Resident in Jos South Local Government Council of Plateau State on Thursday.

 

He said his member were the victim of kidnappers, he express sadness over ransom people kept paying to these hoodlums in the name of kidnapping business.

 

 

According to him, the quick passage of the bill into law by the 9th Assembly would go a long way in reducing crime and criminality, especially the dangerous kidnappers who have venture into as their own business.

 

 

He pointed out that, this January alone one can’t account for the number of people that they were kidnapped, everyday three to five persons are being kidnap into their dens and victims’ families are forced to cough out ransom failure their family member would be killed.

 

 

Ayuba decried that the incident of kidnapping has become rampant cases across the 17 LGAs of the state were hardly a day would past without you hearing from the next door neighbor that one of his relatives was kidnapped.

 

 

He reiterated that the state Assembly should take the bull by the horn and do the needful in passing the executive bill propost stiff punishment to the culprits perpetrating these heinous crimes against fellow citizens.

 

 

Comrade Shamdung Ayuba commended the Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong for his commitment to well-being of the state by appealing that the operation Rain bow should be empower with the necessary gadgets to help reduce the rate kidnapping and bandits in the state.

 

He disclosed that these menace of stealing, kidnapping, cattle rustling  and Fulani ,farmers clashes had continue to cause communities sleepless night and their numbers are on the increase on daily basis.

 

While responding to questions about the minimum wage, Comrade Shamdung Ayuba urged Governor’s Lalong to fast track the negotiation which is ongoing to settle the N30 ,000.00 minimum wage agreement with the workers from the LGAs and the state government  so that he would write his name on the new book of achievement.

 

He maintained that this is the best executive bill if passed into law, Plateau citizens would be eager to push the state Assembly for the accelerated passage

 

 

Comrade Ayuba equally use this medium to commensurate with the family of Sen Ignatius Longjan and the families of those killed in Bokkos and Mangu LGAs.
