He commended the efforts of the Prof Sony Tyoden led transition committee in bring to the minds of plateau people the true picture of atrocities committed by the proceeding Government of the Jang administration.
Benshak Dalop disclosed this Wednesday while reacting to the report of the committee that has indicted the past administration over financial recklessness, highhandedness and lopsided award of Contracts.
He said the report has vindicated the citizens’ constant cry and lamentations over the antecedents that heralded the past administration.
He berated the Law Makers who served in the state house, saying “it became very ridiculous that even when it became glaring that the government was corrupt, funds were being diverted and salaries were not being paid, Elders were made to be afraid to talk to the Governor to his face, members remain dossal “.
He advised Plateau people to support the state government in probing the past administration to recover the huge debt profile incurred to the state.
Insisting that, those indicted in the report should invited to explain how contracts were inflated above budgetary appropriations and yet such contracts were abandoned.
Benshak Dalop advised the state government to prioritize ongoing projects in the state by ensuring that only projects that meet interest of the people are maintained.
He debunked the insinuations that the governing party has a Religious Agenda, buttressing that the mass exodus and de camping of members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All progressive Congress, APC in most of the states of the federation is a clear indication that APC has gained National acceptance.
Dalop explained further that the APC government is not to witch-hunt anyone under Governor Lalong but to ensure that everybody is being carried along.
According to him, PDP is now a dead party because the rate at which the supporters are decamping in to APC indicates that the party is completely dead.
