Nasarawa State College of Health, Science and Technology, Keffi has matriculated 629 students that were admitted into the institution this year. The Provost, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad in his speech urged the matriculants to settle down and face their studies with utmost seriousness.
He said the college will not condone acts of truancy indiscipline, examination malpractices, cultism, and other anti-social vices that are tantamount to frustrate other serious students in the health institution.
The provost explained that the College of Health, Science and Technology, Keffi which offers 13 courses, and the results of the 2021 national examination showed that the College got an average of 89.3 percent.
He buttressed that with the upgrade and relocation of the college to the permanent site by Engineer Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, said the 20 years old school has breathing space to focus on the need to introduce three additional courses that are essential in the improvements of primary health care centres in the state.
The provost revealed that three new programmes which will commence this year include National Diploma in biomedical engineering, National Diploma in Image processing x-ray, and a national Diploma in epidemiology and disease control.
Suleiman Muhammad also explained that the College is collaborating with the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) which gives direct entry to the graduands of the institution into 200- level, other institutions are Ladipo Akintola University,Ogbomosho which will use the college as a learning center for the award of Degrees and Postgraduate diploma in health-related Programmes which will commence this year.
The provost used the occasion to announce the induction of the second set of pharmacy technicians, calling on the graduands to be good ambassadors of the college by remembering the college anywhere they found themselves.
The state commissioner for health pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya who is also the chairman of the occasion commended the management of the college for their collective efforts in making the college as one of the centres of excellence
He urged the management to maintain the tempo in the best interest of the state and the country, the chairman congratulate both the new pharmacy technicians and the newly matriculated students.
