The head corporate communication of the Abuja Electricity Distribution company, Oyebode Babs Fadepe described the collection of money from customers to restore damage transformers, cable and other electrical installation as illegal.

Fadepe hinted this during a courtesy visit to the company’s office by the Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa State chapter.

The head of corporate communication insisted that no dine should be collected from customers for the replacement of damage transformer or armour cable.

Oyebode says the restoration of faulty substation remains the sole responsibility of the distribution company.

“Any time any person or persons asked for money for the reinstallation Of electricity fittings should demand for receipt”

Oyebode maintained that gullible staff of AEDC would be sanction for such offence.
