The Chairman of ANOG group and Gusi Peace Prize laureate Dr. Sami Charles has condemned recent mockery directed at President Bola Tinubu following his accidental fall at the Democracy Day parade.
In a statement signed personally by him he said; “I, Dr. Sami Charles, Chairman of ANOG Group and Gusi Peace Prize laureate, wish to address the recent mockery directed at President Bola Tinubu following his accidental fall at the Democracy Day parade. I am deeply disappointed by the actions of those who ridiculed President Tinubu.
According to the statement, Dr. Charles said; “Our traditional values emphasize respect and kindness, especially towards our elders. President Tinubu, as an elder statesman, deserves our respect and compassion, regardless of political differences. We should treat him as we would our own grandfather, with dignity and empathy, rather than ridicule.
“I am concerned about the recent unrest in Kenya triggered by new government tax laws. I appeal to the Kenyan government to reconsider these policies, as the economic hardship across Africa is unprecedented. It is imperative that our leaders provide progressive, people-oriented leadership to mitigate these hardships.
“I remind African leaders that the demand for change across our continent is ongoing. Only by embracing inclusive and forward-thinking governance can we effectively manage this wave of change,” he said.
