CBN To Reposition Economy Opportunity For Low Income Owners

The Director Finance Department Central Bank of Nigeria Mrs Tope Omage has solicited the corporation of youths towards building the capacity on skill acquisition and promotion of self-reliance.

She said that it is mobilized to repositioning the economy opportunity to low income owners and  the  cash-less policy of electronic payment system in Nigeria .

The director finance department central bank of Nigeria restated this while declaring open a two day sensitization fair holding at Hill station Hotel, Jos ,Plateau state on Thursday.

Mrs Ogame was represented by assistant director Alh Aliyu Katuka said the management of CBN attach high premium and commitment to this sensitization programme with the main objective is to create awareness about the economic development of bringing opportunities available and how best to leverage people.

She noted that the fair is mobilizing women ,youths, entrepreneurs ,farmers and financial service providers to come together and interact by creating synergy towards enhancing access to finance ,increase productivity ,generate employment ,create wealth and engender sustainable growth.

Omage reminded Nigerians that the verification number (BVN) registration is still ongoing and that those of you who are yet to either register or link your bank accounts with your BVN should endeavor to do so as soon as possible by visiting your banks personally. For the biometric capturing.

The branch controller, central bank of Nigeria Mathias Kurah said bank continued to evolve the policy formulations and implementation to tackle some of the critical challenges confronting us a Nation .

He disclosed that the programme will facilitate the general public compliance to the policies and effective participation in the various initiatives of federal government.

Kurah noted that ,” as part of the Bank effort to realizing Government aspirations of being among the largest 20 economies in the world by the year 2020, CBN introduced the cashless policy to modernize Nigeria payment system.

According to him, Nigeria rates of adult financial exclusion was estimated at about 46.3% of the highest in sub-Saharan Africa.

He lamented inadequate electric power supply ,poor transport systems, lack of access to appropriate and affordable technology and a host of other challenges which must all be addressed.
