CASS Educational Foundation Embarks On Advocacy Training Of Private And Public School Students In Plateau On Religious Dialogue

A Non Governmental Organization,NGO, under the ageis of CASS Educational Foundation has introduced interfaith dialogue training for secondary school students through in collaboration with other international bodies to harness the important of bringing the young children together to  understand the differences and background in religious practices.

The One Day training workshop programme held at Runiicon Hotel for secondary school students through interfaith collaboration in Rayfield Jos North Local Government Council of Plateau State.

The Facilitator, and Programme Director , Goodwin Lasisi of CASSEF, disclosed that the Interfaith Alliance for SDG Action Plan is an initiative focused on integrating the sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into existing clubs and societies in public and private secondary schools in Plateau State through interfaith collaboration.

According to him, the project is aimed at promoting dialogue among students of different faith backgrounds to undertake projects targeting selected SDGs.

Lasisi explained further that the initiative was inspired by a successful pilot implementation of the project executed by him to  integrate children of diverse cultural beliefs.

He emphasized that basically the training harped on the aspect of promoting interdenominational and religious differences through dialogue with one another to achieve meaningful development instead of engaging in crises .

He pointed out that during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in FCT Abuja the project got recognition and commendation from the distinguished office of the Senator FCT, Abuja

Godwin Lasisi stressed that the Sustainable Development Goals Support Services of FCT,

Abuja, also secured a$500 seed grant funding from the United Religions Initiative (URI) for its execution in Plateau State.

The Director revealed that all private and public schools are  targeted for the project were to be train in batches  and encouraging them use it as spring board .

The brainstorming sessions was aimed at fostering interfaith collaboration for the achievement of the SDGs at the secondary school level with questions and answers session .

Additionally, a training workshop for school principals, facilitating teachers, and student representatives from each of the four schools is scheduled tentatively .

The Co/Founder Ambassador Dasa Salika speaks on the agenda of building bridges of misunderstanding and finding solution to the problem .

He stated that in solving our differences we first of all understand the cause of the issue before talking about it .We are working together to achieve common goal  .
