CAPP Creates Awareness Campaign For Credible Election, Persons With Disabilities Inclusion

Community Action for Popular Participation ,CAPP, Ag Executive Director ,Mr Nelson Ananze has said they have organized interface with the general public and persons with disabilities towards strengthening citizens engagement in electoral processes ahead Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission in the state.

Addressing the participants at the town hall meeting with PLASIEC, Plateau state coalition on Electoral reform and good governance held in Jos.

He explained further that the meeting aim at creating awareness campaign to to reduce violence and conduct a peaceful Fair and credible election.

The CAPP boss emphasized the important of including persons with disabilities in the electoral processes ahead of council elections by appreciating the positive contributions of persons with special needs.

Nelson Ananze stressed that the meeting brainstorm in major area that has to do with women’s and those that are disenfranchised during voting exercise.

The representative of National Orientation Agency, NOA, Barr. Rhoda I Sadus said as a body saddle with responsible of enlightenment and creating awareness campaign for credible election in Nigeria.

“We encourage and improve on political education by ensuring full participation so that all group will not be marginalize to carry them across board “, he said.

He advised that the ongoing registration is a continuation exercise towards strengthening citizens to actively participate for everyone to get the nearest polling units in Naraguta and government college Jos.

However, 9 man committees have been set up to address people challenges in the electoral processes apart from those that are in diaspora, blind and limbs.

The Civil Liberty Organization, zonal coordinator, Comrade Steve Aloku said the mainstream of electoral processes to ensure that thugs didn’t hijack the election material.
