Capital Sportiff Sports Club Launches Exciting Six-Team Tournament

Abuja-based Capital Sportiff Sports Club has announced an exciting Six-Team Football Tournament, set to captivate sports fans over three Saturdays. The competition begins on November 30, 2024, and will culminate with a grand finale on December 14, 2024. All matches will take place at the New Capital International School Sports Arena in Asokoro, Abuja.

The tournament brings together six formidable teams, promising thrilling action and competitive spirit. The participating teams are: Team PU/REX, Team AVM/APUGO, Game Village FC, Capital City FC, UKGM FC, and Karamajiji All Stars FC.

According to a release issued by Desmond Utomwen, the Public Relations Officer of the club, the games will adhere to a compact format, with each match lasting 40 minutes in a single half, complemented by a 10-minute break between matches. FIFA rules for yellow and red cards will apply to maintain fair play, while officials will ensure the timely execution of all fixtures.

The release also quoted the Sports and Events Coordinator of the club, Senator Ayodeji Ojo, who provided details of the tournament format. The competition will begin with a group stage, where the teams will be divided into Group A and Group B. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.

In the semi-final matchups, cross-group pairings will determine the finalists:

1st place in Group A will face 2nd place in Group B.

1st place in Group B will face 2nd place in Group A.

The winners of the semi-finals will meet in the grand finale, also scheduled for December 14, 2024.

The fixtures reveal that three matches will be played on each of the first two matchdays.

Group A – November 30, 2024

Match 1: Team AVM/PU vs. Karamajiji All Stars FC – 8:30 AM

Match 2: Karamajiji All Stars FC vs. Capital City FC – 9:25 AM

Match 3: Capital City FC vs. Team AVM/PU – 10:15 AM

Group B – December 7, 2024

Match 1: UKGM FC vs. Team REX/APUGO – 8:30 AM

Match 2: Team REX/APUGO vs. Game Village FC – 9:25 AM

Match 3: Game Village FC vs. UKGM FC – 10:15 AM

Grand Finale

The semi-finals and final will take place on December 14, 2024, culminating in the crowning of the tournament champions.
