The Interim National President YOWICAN Ekiye C. Ekiye at a news briefing stressed that Nigerian Christian Youths have been subjected to shift of goal post by the Youth Director who is not a youth and seems not to understand the working of CAN constitution.
In his speech, “Our leadership is born out of necessity for youth to have a viable democratic setting and we want to discourage acrimony”.
The Youth Wing Christians Association of Nigeria YOWICAN has lamented over non conduct of elections into the various position of the Association since after the dissolution of the National Leaders.
The leadership according to the aggrieved members were dissolved in July 2014 as well as suspended the YOWICAN by-laws to give way for election of new leadership in the same Month but to unveil.
The Association is however accusing the National Directorate of Youth and women who have taken advantage of the vacuum created to take charge of the Youth activities as against the provisions of the 2004 CAN constitution.
 “It is unfortunate that men who are greedy, disrespectful to the future and do not mean well to Christian Youths, we have decided to invade their greed to achieve a cheap political goal.
“We understand that the National Director of Youth and women are not ready to conduct elections to the Youth office to give him room to appoint non credible youth as coordinators to be collecting money from Politicians in place of substantive leadership against the interest of the entire christians Youth of Nigeria”.
Ekiye noted that the Youths have lost confidence on the director Apostle Fabole for his inability to provide advice, encouragement and conduct elections for the Christian Youths.

The Youths however commended the competent and credible leadership of the National President of CAN Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor for standing and speaking the voice of the church nationwide.
