President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to unveil three rice pyramids cultivated and produced by BCO Borno state farmers association,( Private Anchor borrowers programe) in conjunction with walwanne and sons limited, under Dr. Abiso Kabir in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital  next week Thursday.

In a release signed in Abuja on Friday by the Senior Special Adviser, Media, to the Buhari Campaign Organisation, (BCO), Alhaji Garba Dangida, the feat confirms the commitment of the Buhari Administration to his campaign promise to reduce poverty and boost agriculture.

The feat, according to the release, testifies of the effort by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to stimulate increased earnings from agriculture and diversify economy from sole reliance on oil accruals.

Kabir, a strong supporter of President Buhari, is the North East Coordinator of BCO and has donated a campaign office to the organisation.

“He has kept faith with our Change Agenda and keyed into the Anchor Borrowers Programme on Rice Production in line with the cardinal agenda of the Buhari’s Administration,” Dangida stressed.

The unveiling underscores the need to showcase agriculture to the unemployed youths as an enterprise and the imperatives of returning to the farm to guarantee wealth creation and food security.

Dangida stated that the rice production is evidence that peace is gradually returning to the North east and that economic and social activities are picking up against the wishful thinking of naysayers.

He said reports pockets of attacks by insurgents were mischief by the sect and questionable Nigerians in their disloyal plan to discredit the Buhari Government in defeating insurgency and grow local economy.

It went further that; “It will also dispel the untruths and re-affirm the truism that indeed peace has returned to Borno State and that insurgents are no longer in a position to disrupt or dictate the economic and social activities in the state.”

The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, March 22 at the Ramat Square, Maiduguri.

Eminent Nigerians expected at the unveiling include state governors, political and traditional leaders from the region.
