This year’s edition of African Diaspora Awards is set to be taken a notch higher by the coming on board of Brussels Airlines, as the official carrier of ADA and leading Belgian airline which has, for a long time, stayed true to its mission of bringing people together and making travelling a pleasure.

The annual African Diaspora Awards, widely known as ADA, is set to be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 and has been previously sponsored by Transfast, an innovative mobile money transfer company. The event will be running for the sixth year back-to-back since its inception.

The awards seek to recognize and celebrate individuals who have contributed in making a difference in the lives of the African diaspora community in the United States as well as back in the African continent in one way or the other.

The awards, which is an initiative of the Applause Africa, an established media brand with its eyes on empowering Africans in the diaspora, also recognizes individuals who have excelled in many spheres of life and made a brand of themselves while, at the same time, contributing towards various programmes or causes.

The coming on board of Brussels Airlines to partner with Transfast in sponsoring this year’s edition of ADA will certainly be a big plus to the event.

While announcing the new partnership, a representative from Brussels Airlines said: “We’re proud to announce that we will be partnering with Transfast, one of the fastest growing and innovative online money transfer platforms, in sponsoring this year’s Africa Diaspora Awards.  Transfast is a natural partner for Brussels Airlines as we seek to honour those making an impact in the Africa diaspora and as we fly the award recipients to New York.”

On the other hand, Jay Vix, Transfast’s Director of Strategic Partnership, welcomed the new partnership saying, “We’ve been sponsoring the previous ADA events and we now welcome our new partners, Brussels Airlines, on board with both hands. The timing is nothing short of perfect and I believe this a beginning of a good and mutual relationship.”

Brussels Airlines is credited for being among the top airlines across the world that have effectively and rapidly adapted to the changing business environment.

Brussels Airlines made the announcement at a time when the list of this year’s honourees was made public. Among the nominees are various African great personalities.

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Dulo.
