Elombah.com also gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the chairman of PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Anthony Anenih to resign his office as the BOT chairman. But it is not known whether Anenih has accepted to resign or not.
Muazu has been under immense pressure to resign from PDP governors and other party stalwarts.
In a letter he wrote to the Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Muazu who noted that having weighed all and against the abysmal performance of the party during the March 28 Presidential election, where the PDP for the first time lost to the opposition, it became imperative for him to go and for peace to reign in the PDP.
In the letter, he asked Secondus to step in as acting National Chairman in line with the party’s constitution.
As at the time of this report, the leadership of the party were holding the National Working Committee, NWC meeting and studying the letter of resignation and will come up with a statement after the meeting.
