Breaking: How Nasarawa State Bureau For Pension Ordered Civil Defence Personnel To Brutalized Two Journalists(Rabiu Omaku Of Universal Reporters And Gambo Ahmed Of Peoples Daily)

The Nasarawa state Bureau for Pension, on Friday ordered Personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps attached to the bureau to brutalized two journalists, Rabiu Omaku of the Universal Reporters and Gambo Ahmed of Peoples daily Newspaper.

The journalists were among other correspondents that were at the premises of Pension Bureau to take photographs of delisted pensioners published on the notice board.

It was gathered that an argument arose between the Public Relations Officer of the Bureau, lbrahim Dawaya and the journalists in the process of taking the photograph.

It was when all efforts by the PRO to seize the camera from Rabiu Omaku failed that he ordered the two Civil Defence personnel on duty to beat up the journalists.

It was further gathered that the two journalists were severely beaten with the butt of guns and other objects such as sticks.

One of them Rabiu Omaku is in a critical condition and receiving medical attention at the intensive unit of Dalhatu Araf Specialist hospital Lafia.

Meanwhile, the leadership of Correspondents Chapel of NUJ in the state under Abubakar Suleiman has expressed dismay over the conduct of the security men.

Suleiman who appealed to his members to remain calm, assured that the matter will not be hidden under the carpet.
