Breaking: Gunmen Bomb Police Division, Free Detainees In Imo

Some unknown persons was on Thursday, Jan.6th 2022, stormed the Ideato South LGA Police Headquarters in Dikenafai, Imo State, and bombed the station.

Revealed by news has it that the armed men freed the detainees who were at the Police custody in that station.

According to reports, the hoodlums arrived in their large numbers, used explosive devices and set the station ablaze.

The explosives destroyed the administrative office, the Divisional Police Officer’s office, and the reception desk.

Speaking, the Chairman of Ideato South LGA Interim Management Committee,IMC, Hon. Pastor Bede Ikeaka, expressed shock at the incident.

Imo Police Command spokesman, Michael Abattam, said he was yet to be briefed as at the time of filing this report.

Fortunately, it was learnt that local vigilante group in the area caught some of the detainees as they were advancing to escape.
