Breaking: ECOWAS Orders Immediate Standby Force Against Niger Junta

ECOWAS leaders have taken a decisive stance, calling for the swift activation of force against the military junta in Niger Republic. This resolute move is underscored by the leaders’ conviction that diplomatic dialogues have been met with defiant rejection by the coup leaders. Expressing deep concern over the ongoing detention of President Mohamed Bazoum and his family, the leaders condemned these actions, paving the way for a united response.

The regional body, Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has garnered support for its resolution from the African Union (AU), partner countries, and international institutions.
