A Kaduna State High Court has acquitted Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife Zeenah of all the charges preferred against them by the Kaduna State Government.
The presiding judge, Justice Gideon Kurada, upheld the no-case submission filed by Zakzaky and his wife over the charges against them which included culpable homicide, unlawful assembly and disruption of public peace.

The judge said the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the defendants.
Responding to the ruling, Senator Shehu Sani said “the discharge and acquittal of the leader of the Islamic Movement Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife is a welcome development and triumph of the rule of law.
“Kudos to the Judge and the Falana legal team. Let love takes over our hearts away from hate and persecution.”
