Persons identified as armed robbers have killed 3 Policemen and a driver in the convoy of Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.
A reliable source said the convoy of the number two citizen ran into a roadblock mounted by armed bandits at the popular “Many have gone” a hilltop that is located in Gako along Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga highway, where four persons in the Deputy Governor’s Convoy, as well as a driver of a Sharon Vehicle, were killed.
The Deputy Governor was on his way to the nation’s capital to attend a function, as, at the time of filing this report, the attacked happened at about 8 pm this evening.
As at press time names of the deceased officers are not yet known.
“Many have gone” is a flash-point where over the years activities of bandits have reigned supreme.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ismail Umar could not be reached for comment..
