Ex- Akwa Ibom State governor, Godswill Akpabio, has been elected the 10th Senate President of Nigeria.
Akpabio, a former minister of Niger Delta affairs, was elected at the inauguration of the 10th assembly on Tuesday.
He defeated Abdulaziz Yari, former Zamfara State governor.
Akpabio was the anointed candidate of the APC.
Akpabio scored 63 votes while Abdulaziz Yari scored 46 votes.
