An eye witness Umana Maliki told our correspondent in Yola on a telephone call that “the insurgents came in through the outskirt town of  Garkida which is sharing boundaries with the southern part of Borno ,the attempted attacking the town at about 6:45pm shortly before the Muslim last prayer of the day”
Umana also said that “they came in a motor cart  shooting and shouting Allahuk Abar meaning God is great, but before they could advance to Gombi town the military that have been stationed there counted them and killed so many of them”
Another eye witness, Gambo Adams told our reporter that “the fight lasted for about two hours we were so scared to come out even after the shooting ended”.
“But when I came out l saw two of their vehicle were burnt and three sized by the military and some dead bodies of the insurgents” i really appreciated the effort of the Nigeria troop.
Effort to get the reaction of the chairman of the council Mr. Japhart  Keffas failed as his aide said his boss is on his way to Gombi.
