He said the Agency in collaboration with Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency and the Red Cross, were doing all they could to identify those IDPs living in host communities so that they too could benefit from the relief items provided.

Sani Sidi expressed the Agency’s readiness to work with all religious bodies and NGOs in a coordinated manner.

An ad – hoc committee set up by NEMA, headed by Mallam Sa’ad Bello has already commenced operation. IDPs are being re-registered and issued with identity numbers, new camps have been identified in Bekaji area of Jimeta, Numan and Shelleng, and host communities are being accessed.

Relief items have been deployed to those new areas identified.

IDPs in Nyako Housing camp are being moved to other camps with better facilities as there was a constraint in providing better facilities there by the owners of the property.

Although a small number of IDPS have insisted on remaining there after much appeal, they will be provided for in the interim.
