Boko Haram Members Killed in Iraq

Mosul Youth Resistance Movement killed a number of Boko Haram militants in Mosul on Wednesday, May 13th.

Saed Mamuzini, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Mosul spokesperson told BasNews that the Mosul Youth Resistance Movement, which was recently formed to act against Islamic State (IS) in Mosul, attacked the Boko Haram insurgents in the Dargaza neighbourhood of eastern Mosul today, killing 5 insurgents.

Mamuzini added, “The Nigerian Boko Haram militants were in Mosul to take part in a military training course conducted by Islamic State (IS).”

Boko Haram, a radical Islamic group, has kidnapped and killed thousands of people in areas under their control in north eastern Nigeria.

The group has pledged allegiance to IS and appear to be in close cooperation.

This is the first report of the presence of Boko Haram militants in Iraq.
