Boko Haram Cripples Business In Northern Nigeria Says NASCO Boss

The Management of NASCO group of Company says the dreams of Business operators and company owners in Nigeria are reduced to a night mare due to insecurity in the country.
Senior Administrative Manager of the Company, Shehu Sule Nyatau who disclosed this when the newly elected officials of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ, Plateau state chapter paid them a familiarization visit.

According to him, the recent security situation in the North- Eastern Nigeria has badly affected business, even as he said, NASCO that used to make 60 – 70% sales at every production now dwindles between 10 – 15% sales.
He said the drop in sales is due is obvious owing to the fact that Kaduna, Kano and Maiduguri which used to be their remarkable sale points has been high jacked by the activities of Boko Haram sect.
He decried that the development has badly affected the company to a large extend that NASCO that used to be one of the highest employer of labour with the staff strength of over 2000 personnel can only burst of about a 1000 work force.
As if that is not enough, Mr Sule said the company has also gone broke and has stopped production of most of their products due to financial problems.
” In fact, our case is just a night mare, we are just trying to catch up with the competition in the west, but we have cash problems and some times we just have to buy row materials on credit”.

He said what the company is doing now is to manage to pay salaries of staff it still maintain.
