… Kassah Urges Fed Govt To Build Barrack

The Management Committee Chairman of Bokkos , Local Government Council,(LGC) of Plateau State, Hon . Monday M.Kassah commended the chief of defense staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa, Plateau State government, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and other security agencies for the restoration of peace by appealing to the authority concerned over the building of the barrack earlier promised to safeguard farmers.
Speaking to some session of journalists at his Hwolshe Resident on Democracy Day, May 29th celebration in Plateau State.
Kassah said the council in the past witnessed a lot of attacks coming from incessant attacks and killings for over 5 decades ago but when Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang assumed office as an action governor in collaboration with security agencies provided an adequate Security network.
However, the governor also ensured that SEMA and NEMA provided relief materials to aid IDPs with food, medical, and social amenities within the camp and numerous assistants which the exercise continued to come in batches.
According to him, as the chief Security officer of the local government, he organized stakeholders meetings to dialogue with aggrieved Communities affected by the conflict and to find a lasting solution on the way forward.
He disclosed that Governor Mutfwang’s constant visit to the affected LGAs several times with the aim of giving them hope and his intervention had yielded positive results seeing farmers going to farm .
He explained further that the Mutfwang administration has done credibly well in the last one year in office, especially in the areas of infrastructural development, road construction, Transportation, Water Scheme , and agriculture which the council benefited immensely with the expansion of the water project earmarked.
According to Kassah, the Bokkos farmers are in high spirit to return to farm as the government distributed truckloads of fertilizers and the deployment of extension workers for soil testing to educate the farmers on the new potato variety species.
He pointed out that with the deployment of security agencies to safeguard farmers in strategic locations to curb the challenges of insecurity the people of Bokkos are expressing happiness with the governor in the area of security and transformation work.
Monday Kassah reeled out that he has been able to achieve a lot within a short time in office due to the cordial working relationship with the Stakeholders and staff of the council.
He said, on assumption of office the staff morale was too low and performance was so bad that many workers were not paid from teachers to NULGE of two months backlog of salary and arrears but the Mutfwang administration had cleared up the outstanding allowances and arrears.
Monday stressed that the projects introduced by the Former Governor Jonah David Jang was left as abandoned projects until the present government came on board to resume work on site .
He also stated that the stadium complex of football, tennis balls, including other sporting equipment was re-awarded to the contractor and he has resumed work.
Kassah emphasized that the road network contract was ongoing and two clinics were commissioned and put to use whereby the council purchased healthcare facilities dug boreholes and refurbished it.
He said Governor Mutfwang’s administration is fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of Plateau State and ensuring that the state enjoys the dividends of democracy.
