The Catholic Arch Bishop of Jos, Most Rev. Ignitius Kaigama has proclaimed Blessed sacrament pastoral area, Jenta, Jos a new Pastoral area.
This was highlight of the activities of the diocese on Sunday where Jenta Mangoro in Jos North local area went agog as clergy Men and worshipers thronged the area to witness the formal elevation of the church and the installation ceremony of the chief priest of the Church Bishop Kaigama.
With the elevation of Blessed Sacrament pastoral area, the Jos Arch Diocese now has six pastoral areas.
Bishop who was represented at the inauguration area by Vicar General Administration, Very Rev. Msgr. Prof. Cletus T. Gotan was also accompanied by the Dean St Theresa’s Deanery, Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Fom, Rev. Fr. Alexander Dung has installed as the priest of the church.
In a welcome address, Chairperson of the Church council Mrs. Helen Hassan said they are overwhelmed for the honour done to the community and Promised to work hand in hand with him for the growth of the church.
Speaking, Very Rev. Msgr. Prof. Cletus T. Gotan said the Arch Bishop has been worried to see that the church is elevated and decide that Rev. Alexander Dung who is familiar with the teren be installed to handle activities of the church as well as teach the people there the doctrines of Catholic believes.
“I want to say that It is a fulfilled day for the Arch Diocese and Jenta as a whole, Bishop Kaigama is determined to bring you as one people and to enable you to buried tribal sentiments”.
He appealed to the congregation to be security conscious And warn members against involving themselves money bag politicians who would sponsor them to bid in ballot box snatching in the forth coming and should vote for a credible and God fearing servants.
He described as disheartening to hear that worker in the state are been denied salaries for over 9 months.
He also charges members to observe the period of advent, as a period for self-searching in preparation for the return of Jesus Christ and change our hearts and for the better.
