The Benue State Government has announced the death of Dr. Agbogbo Ode, the Head of Service of Benue State. The announcement was made on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Dr. Ode died on Saturday, May 2, 2026, following a brief illness, according to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dcns. Serumun Deborah Aber Esq MCIArb (UK), FCIPAN. Officials described his passing as sudden.
The state government described Dr. Ode as an impeccable technocrat and a highly respected authority in public service. His death is being viewed as a huge loss to the entire state.
In its statement, the government highlighted Dr. Ode’s hard work, brilliance, and immense contributions to the State Civil Service. It noted that his credible and dependable authority in public service matters will be greatly missed.
On behalf of the people of Benue State, the government extended deep condolences to Dr. Ode’s family, friends, associates, and the civil service community. The statement also offered prayers for the repose of his soul.
