Benue Community Leaders’ Complained Of Non-Inclusion Of Its Members In Appointments From Plateau

The Benue community on the Plateau has raised alarm over non-inclusion of their people in appointments from the past and present government of Plateau state.

Their letter of complained which was presented to the Transition Chairman of Jos North Local Government council at the secretariat on Thursday revealed that the Igbos who does not participate in the electioneering campaign in the  state and voting exercise but they  come back to pick juicy political appointments at local to the state level.

He stressed further that some non-indigenous tribes who came within the middle belt states who seemingly have refused to run believing that Plateau state is already a good home are not considered for political appointments.

Chief Peter Shir Apeh Tiv ,Tiv community leader on the Plateau who led the solidarity visit to the secretariat headquarters in Jos North other who were in attendance include, council secretary Shehu Sani ,deputy DPM, supervisory councillors and all the Tiv sons and daughters on the plateau.

The Tiv community on Plateau also decorated the transition committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state, Mrs Theresa Azi with the Tiv black and white (zebras colour dress,”anger”)

The council Chairman Hon Theresa Azi was given a new name by the Tiv community to call KUMAASHE which means; Pleasant or agreeable person.

Apeh assured of Tiv that she will not support any group of people who would like to cause trouble to this city.

He lauded Governor Simon Lalong for appointing people of integrity considering their past records.

The Tiv leader said that Jos is a cosmopolitan city where people of all types of attitudes are found so you just need to seek for God wisdom to rule in order to consolidate on the existing peace we are witnessing today.

In her response, the Management committee Chairman Mrs Theresa Azi thanked the Tiv community and assured them that government will look into the issues raised in TerTiv speech.

She was full of praises to the Tiv community because they were the first community to honour her.
