Benue Community In Plateau Removes Chairman Over Financial Misappropriation

The Chairman Benue Progressive forum in Plateau state, Mr. Sunday Obla has been impeached for want of financial impropriety.

His impeachment was carried out by members of the Executive council and  has been endorsed by the general congress.

Briefing members of the Forum Sunday evening, the presiding officer and secretary General of the Forum, Comrade David Asor said the decision to do impeach Sunday Obla was arrived at an EXCO meeting held on the 7th of May 2015.

“The EXCO of the Benue Progressive Forum having dissatisfied with the activities of the Chairman Sunday Obla due to financial impropriety and side lining other members of the Exco, Eleven members of the Exco has however pass a vote of No confidence on and have signed his impeachment letter”

He said the VIce Chairman of the Forum Chief David Yuah now becomes the acting chairman until a bye election is conducted according to the constitution of the Forum.

The Forum is made up of the Igede, Idoma and Tiv communities living on the Plateau.
