Nasarawa State Deputy governor, Silas Agara has identified the mass movement of people from their place of abode to a safer place to the heat and pressure of the anti-grazing law implemented by the Benue State House of Assembly.

Agara stated this while addressing the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’S) from neighboring communities of Doma Local Government at the IDP camp in Central Primary School, Doma at the weekend.

The Deputy Governor expressed grief over the plight of commoners, saying the state government has taken proactive measures to curb the imbroglio that enveloped Nasarawa South senatorial zone.

“In no distance time our people will sleep with their eyes close”.

“The President has assured the people that Soldiers would be deployed to six states which Nasarawa state was among”.

“The Chief of Army Staff also affirmed that Army would be deployed to Nasarawa state and other crisis stricken states”.

“The Inspector General of Police deployed 5 units of Mobile as well 3 additional units”.

Ali Agara commended the leadership of TIV Development Association for their effort in restoring people’s hope.

The Deputy Governor expressed dismay over the number of people displaced in the lingering Fulani/Farmers clashes.

“Thousands of persons have been displaced and it is the responsibility of our government to protect the lives and properties of the people”.

“What you see today is a fragment of relief material, though our aim is to ensure that all IDP’S return back to their permanent place of abode”.

He commended the Paramount Ruler of Doma, HRH,Alh.Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah for supporting the Displaced Persons in his domain.

It could be recalled that the state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura affirmed that over 25,000 peoples are displaced, as at press time no fewer than 5000 IDP’S are taking refuge in Doma Central Primary school, Doma.
