Chuwang Emmanuel, Jalingo

A Jalingo-based businessman Inuwa Yahaya, has described the recent endorsement of Bello Yero, the permanent secretary Bureau for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs Taraba state for the upcoming election for Zing/Yoro/Jalingo federal constituency as a pathway to victory.

The businessman who spoke to a section of the media in Jalingo affirmed that the endorsement was an indication that Yero is widely accepted and he is coasting to victory.

He expressed confidence in the ability of Mr. Yero and there lies a better representation for the people of the constituency.

According to him, “The endorsement is a sign that Bello Yero is widely accepted, so we are calling on him not to hesitate but immediately resign his position and kick start activities for his campaign we are strongly behind him in the struggle.

“It is also an opportunity to reassure the citizens of Nigeria that we have their interest at heart and not just the government in power. So,

“The endorsement was symbolic and significant, God willing, without sounding arrogant, Bello is going to emerge victorious. You  can go around and feel the pulse of the people, you can see the resonating happiness of the youths and women, that means a lot is already going on that for sure PDP is the party to beat and Bello Yero is the candidate to beat.”

Recall last week youths and women from Zing and Yoro local government areas of Taraba state came out in large numbers to endorse Yero, for the vacant position.

UNIVERSAL REPORTERS reports that the Jalingo/Yoro/ Zing, Federal House of Representative seat became vacant after the demised of Isma’ila Maihanchi who was elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election.

The by-election according to the electoral act is to be conducted within the interval of 90 days upon the time of his death.

Calling for Yero’s nomination, the women and youths who gathered at Yakoko, the headquarters of Yoro local government in their hundreds call on the PDP to consider nominating Alhaji Yero to fly the flag of the party in the coming primary election.

The women leader Jonua Inusa and youth leader Joseph Bakari said Yero is the only candidate to be nominated for quality representation and sure ticket for PDP to win the forthcoming by-election.

“Bello Yero has been in the service of Taraba state government since the creation of the state, he has helped quite a number of people that are too numerous to be mentioned here and he has all the experience needed to give quality representation.”

“He has the qualities a representative needed to address our needs, and with him, is a sure win for PDP at the general election, other political parties may rather not feel in candidates if Yero is nominated by the PDP.” The leaders stated separately.

The state PDP chairman Abubakar Bawa recently told our reporter that the party may consider the option of consensus for the candidates to emerge.

He, however, said that in the event that the option failed, the party would conduct primary elections for the contestants.
