The last may not have been heard over the imbroglio surrounding N4 billion loan obtained by Bauchi State Government which its House of Assembly Resolution and State Executive Council approval is all shrouded in secrecy, and remains unanswered.

It would be recalled that soon after a group, Bauchi Coalition Against Injustice And Financial Crimes, in a open letter it published in Daily Trust newspaper and other media outlets stated that there were no approvals of State Executive Council as well as House of Assembly resolution, however, just as the story was published the Bauchi Governor through his spokesman stated that the group lied as the loan has the 7th Assembly’s resolution.

However, Universalreporters247.com learnt that the reason for the outburst of the Governor’s spokesman may not be for show after all, as there was an alleged underhand dealing between the Governor and Speaker of the 7th Assembly, Hon Yahaya Miya in collaboration with Clerk of the State House of Assembly.

Findings by this medium indicate that prior to that media write up by the Bauchi anti-corruption group, the Speaker of the 7th House of Assembly allegedly connived with the Clerk of the House and forged the House Resolution for the loan. An impeccable source familiar with the intrigues of the loan alleged that the Speaker of the House and Clerk received a N30 million kickback from the Governor to forge the House of Assembly resolution.

But this medium learnt that in the wake of the suit filed against the State Governor over the N4 Billion loan by a taxpayer in Bauchi a member of the 7th  Assembly who confided in this medium said that the former Speaker confided in him that, that the 7th Assembly which he presided over never passed any resolution for the N4 Billion loan for the current government.

Universlreporters247.com has learnt that in order to carry other members of the 7th Assembly along, there have been secret moves allegedly by some group of people to compel members of the 7th Assembly to agree that they were in attendance and the resolution for the loan was passed by them.

A reliable source told this medium that a meeting was held in the house of one of the lawmakers at Federal Low Cost Bauchi, where 12 of them signed an attendance and allegedly collected the sum of N300, 000 each.

Meanwhile, Spokesman of the 7th Assembly Abdulmumini Hassan Ningi at a press briefing in December 2015 said the 7th Assembly never approved any loan for incoming government of Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar because they held their valedictory session one week before the swearing in of the governor, and even threatened to sue Bauchi Government spokesman if he did not withdraw the statement.

Moreover, a lawmaker from the 7th Seventh Assembly who pleaded anonymity told this medium that before a memo for a loan will be approved, it must be read on the floor of the House and it must pass through first and second readings so that it will be scrutinized to protect the interest of the state.‎

It would be recalled that Governor Abubakar’s victory at the APC gubernatorial primaries is been contested in the courts on allegations of obtaining his gubernatorial ticket through fraud means, and now this loan, which is also alleged to have been obtained fraudulently. It is equally baffling how UBA Plc gave the governor approval of the said loan without recourse to due process.

As the intrigues of this loan deepens, and the conspiracy thickens, it remains to be seen whether Governor Abubakar will present the purported resolution he obtained from the 7th Assembly in court, as evidence of its legality, so that the matter will be rested once and for all or not!
