Bauchi Governor Presents N202 Billion Budget For 2023 Fiscal Year

Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir of Bauchi state has presented a proposed budget of two hundred billion (N200 billion) for the 2023 fiscal year.

Bala when presenting the budget to the state House of Assembly members said this year’s budget is higher than the past years.

He added that the estimate which he tagged ‘Budget of Accomplishment and Renewed Commitment’ has a capital expenditure of over N114b, adding that N125b was earmarked for recurrent expenditure.

Adding that “despite the dwindling economic challenges that affected the performance of previous budget proposals, his administration has made significant achievements in critical sectors of health, education, agriculture, and human capital development”

“Public hearings have been conducted across the three Senatorial Zones in the state with a view to accommodate inputs from the citizens towards executing projects that have a direct bearing on their lives”, Bala Mohammed disclosed.

In his part, the Speaker Bauchi state House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman described the budget as the best budget presentation in the history of Bauchi State.

“It is historic in the sense that it is the last time this Assembly will have this type of special session to receive His Excellency for budget presentation as well as the last Budget presentation of governor Bala to the Honourable House in his first term in office”, the speaker said.

The speaker of the House promised on behalf of the honorable members of the House of the State Assembly to give governor Bala full support for the betterment of Bauchi state and Nigeria as a whole.
