The Executive Governor of Bauchi State has approved the immediate disbursement of bursary allowances to ongoing students of Bauchi State origin.
While inaugurating a 12-Man Committee to fast track and ensure immediate disbursement of the sum of N166.9m which has been approved for payment of 2015/2016 Bursary Allowances, the Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Engr Nuhu Gidado mandated the committee to come up with a comprehensive database of all ongoing students of Bauchi State origin alongside their Bank Account Numbers and BVNs as the State Government will subsequently use electronic means to settle students’ bursary allowances.
He instructed that on no account should any students be asked to come over to the state capital for his/her bursary allowance, but cheaques be taken to them at their various institutions.
It could be recalled that His Excellency Gov Mohammed Abubakar Esq during a Memorial Lecture organized by NUBASS, assured Bauchi State Students of his Administration’s readiness to settle their bursary allowances.
The committee which will be headed by Alh Danlami Garba has 10days to carry out it’s mandate.
