Bauchi Community Groan, Beg Govt To Construct Mini Bridge For Them

The people of Sara, a community in Tafawa-Balewa local government area of Bauchi State have pleaded with the state government to come to their aid by constructing a mini bridge that can link them up with the local government headquarters and other surrounding communities.

Speaking during an N20 million fundraising event organized by the community for the project, Mr. Gambo Danladi appealed to the government to come to their aid to ease their sufferings, especially during the rainy season.

Mr. Gambo Danladi who served as the chairman planning committee of the fundraising event, said historically, Sara community has been in existence for a very long period of years ago without any government intervention.

He, therefore, called on the government of the Bauchi State under the leadership of governor Bala Mohammed to assist the community for the betterment of the society, Tafawa-Balewa local government, Bauchi State, and Nigeria as a whole.

“During the rainy season, we don’t use to have access to visit some neighbouring communities or participate in some activities”, he said.

Danladi further appealed to the Bauchi State government to have compassion on them and help them with equipment and other inputs for the actualization of the construction of the bridge so that the people of the community would have easy movement of life.

On his part, the village head of the community, Retired SP. Dallatu Mugana Sarki expressed appreciation on behalf of the traditional rulers in Sara, urging government at all levels to come to their aid and build the mini bridge.

“It has also become increasingly difficult for children to go to school each time it rains”, the monarch said.

He said that, apart from the condition of the roads, the community is also in need of other basic social amenities like schools, hospitals, and potable drinking water.

“Pregnant women are suffering, they sometimes die in the process after their nine-month pregnancy because of bad of roads that will people to the remote areas”

The Sara community is among the agrarian settlements that engage in farming activities, providing considerable agricultural produce to especially southern parts of Bauchi of the state.
