Bauchi Community Demand Prosecution Of FRSC Driver Who Killed 2 Persons In Road Accident

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has demanded that the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police prosecutes the driver of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) who killed two people and injured 10 others in a road crash in Alkaleri, Bauchi State

Our correspondent gathered that during the accident a 28 year-old nursing mother and her daughter were killed, with ten people sustaining various degree of injuries, including four people with fractures in a road accident that happened in Bauchi, when the patrol vehicle of the FRSC rammed into the innocent people in a shop in Alkaleri local government area, Bauchi state.

Accordingly, the community also demands for a proper interrogation of the head of operation unit, FRSC Alkaleri, who was present inside the patrol vehicle when the tragic incident happened.

This was contained in a letter signed by the branch chairman of the union, Comr. Bala Moh’d Magayaki Duguri, and addressed  to the Commissioner of Police, dated 22nd December, 2021 and made available to newsmen in Bauchi.

The community noted that since the incident, no any official of the FRSC has visited the victims from the headquarters to sympathise or commiserate with the family of the victims.

“We also demand for a proper prosecution of the principal suspects, especially “Driver” of the FRSC who rammed into the innocent people in a shop and killed 2 persons including a nursing baby mother with several degree of injuries”,

“We demand that the families of those who lost their lives should be compensated as well as to settle all the medical bills incurred by the injured victims at the hospital”, the group declared.

The community said that, even their treatment was being financed by their relatives, without federal government intervention to alleviate their sufferings, with the exception of little donations from the state sector and the unit head command which is not reasonable”, the group said.
