Bauchi CAN Shifts Back, Says Only 40 Percent Of Its Followers Has PVC’s By Masoyi Lusa, Bauchi

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said it back in totality the decision of INEC to postpone the General election until March 28.

Just as it raise an alarm saying that over 4o percent of its members across have not collected there Permanent voter cards (PVC’s) with a charge on Professor Jega to hasten steps towards distributing the PVC’s

Rev. Joshua Maina Bauchi State CAN chairman made the observation while briefing selected newsmen Monday in Bauchi.

The Christian body added that most of the Christian communities like Yelwa, Rafin-Zurfi, Dudum Sayawa, warji, Dass, Bogoro, Tafawa-Balewa including Miya dominated by Christian  have been deny PVC’s

“The shift of the election is a good omen as it stands a test towards the corporate existence of Nigeria and CAN wondered why INEC decided to sing the tones of a particular political party instead of being truly an independent body” said Maina

According to the CAN body, every Nigerian has the right to vote a leader of his choice regardless of any difference regretting that trouble states like Borno, Yobe and Adamawa appears to poses PVC’s compared to other region living in peace

Maina urge Christian communities in the state to vote credible aspirants that have the collective interest of people despite their backgrounds saying Nigeria belongs to all its citizens. It therefore dissociate the body from the recent media report that the North-east Christian association has endorses Buhari and describe the report as a step to drag the association image to mud.

Maina challenged stakeholders to put their heads together to expose the irregularities expected of INEC in connivance of selfish individuals

It therefore call on INEC to without any further delay release PVC’s belonging to Christian community in Bauchi state to ensure justice.
