The Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Council of Plateau State, Hon Dickson Ishaku Chollom has refuted the allegation of reckless spending of the council’s allocation from the federation account, as he cautioned political blackmailers to stop peddling fake news.
Hon Chollom who spoke with our correspondent at Polo club through the director of works of the LGC advised politicians to focus more on what would unite the people rather than promoting parochial interest. “I want to say here that the infrastructural development witnessed under the leadership of Hon Dickson Chollom in the last one year is quite tremendous.
Speaking on diversion of subvention of the LG, Chollom explained further that there are two subventions coming to the Local government, the VAT and the OH, where which of the value Added Tax (VAT) account is dealing with the contract with the registered name, account and company name.
The sort code account contained the TIN number of the contractor, name and address of those who are signatories, including DPM, DFS. He also called on people of the council to obtain credible information before going about to share to the general public.
Hon Dickson Ishaku Chollom outlineed some of his completed projects which he said include landscaping of LGA Secretariat ,completion of Community development Barking Ladi ,completion of State High court, and furnishings to modern standard it was awarded in 2014,changing of wooden cross arms to galvanized channel irons ,electrification.
According to him ,other projects executed under his administration include construction of 3 km road to kwok with a spar to GSS Barkin Ladi ,construction of motorized boreholes at KuraBerom and construction of 4 hand pumps at pandadi simmti ,B/Ladi town and electrification of Heipang -Tapo ,katako with boreholes .
